How to unlink or transfer a domain from a deleted account in HubSpot?

Hi there,

I'm trying to connect a domain that was previously attached to my deactivated/deleted account to a new hubspot account but i keep getting an error message saying 'This domain was added by another HubSpot customer' . Please is there any way I permanently delete the old account? or rather just unlink the domain so I can connect it to my new account.

If you can’t access the old account, contact HubSpot Support directly. Let them know your situation so they can verify ownership and help unlink the domain from the previous account, allowing you to add it to your new one.

Unfortunately, the users cannot manually delete a previous HubSpot account or remove a domain themselves, this is intentionally restricted to prevent unauthorized use or domain hijacking.

You should contact HubSpot Support and explain that you’d like to connect the domain to your new account, but it’s currently linked to an old and inactive account.

To speed things up, make sure to include:

Proof of domain ownership (such as a DNS record, screenshot from your domain registrar, or an email from that domain).

Details of the old account (email address, company name, or account ID, if available).

Once they verify that you own the domain, the support team can manually release it and allow you to connect it to your new HubSpot account.
