Gating various website pages

Hello! I am trying to accomplish the following:

I have created 7 webpages, which are all together a website that we would like to send to people if they want more information on each product we sell (each product has its own webpage, and there is a main one with all of them linked)

We want to have them all gated by 1 form, and that as soon as that form is submitted, a contact and company are created in the CRM.

Question 1: Is this possible in websites, or should these be landing pages?

Question 2: How do we have all the webpages grouped as one website, and not have to gate each page, so that people can navigate freely once the form is submitted?

Question 3: We don't want this site available to "anyone on the internet" as it has information we only give to certain people. We have a working main site for our company outside of this one.

Question 4: Is it easy to set up a form that automatically feeds into the CRM?

Do I understand you correctly that the website with its 7 website pages should only be accessible after one form submission?

In general, for more flexibility, you might want to look into private content. Maybe that's also a solution for you: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/website-pages/require-member-registration-to-access-private-content

If you want to do this with a form, then you would need a landing page with a form which redirects, after submission, to your website; this landing page would say something like "Submit the form to find out more about our products".

Regarding your questions:

Website pages work as well as landing pages.
How exactly are you sending contacts to this page / these pages? If you're planning on sending them to one of the 7 pages, then these will also have to have a form on an entry page, which after submission redirects to the actual page with the content. Alternatively, you'd look into the private content linked above.

1st: Both options work, but landing pages are usually better for gated content and controlled experiences like yours. However, if you're already using website pages, you can still do this just note that:

Website pages are better for SEO/public sites.
Landing pages are better when you want to control access, track conversions, and avoid indexing in search engines.

If this content is meant only for selected people and not public, landing pages are the better fit.

2nd: You have two main options:
Option 1: Smart Content with Cookie-Based Access

Gate the first (main) page with a form.
After submission, set a cookie and redirect them to the main site page or a thank-you page.
Use custom JavaScript or logic on other pages to check for the cookie and allow access.

Option 2: Use HubSpot Membership (CMS Enterprise)

Use private content with login access.
After form submission, grant access via login to the gated pages.
Ideal for full control and compliance, but requires CMS Enterprise.

3rd: You can handle this by:

Adding the following tag in the header of each page you want to hide from search engines: <meta name="robots" content="noindex">
This will prevent pages from being indexed by Google or other search engines.
Also, in the page settings, uncheck the "Public" option or disable listing in navigation.
For stronger protection, use:
- Password protection (available for individual pages),
- Or the Membership feature (CMS Enterprise) for authenticated access.

4th: Yes, super easy. HubSpot forms by default:

Create or update a contact record in the CRM.

You can also use a workflow to create a company record and associate it with the contact based on email domain or other criteria.

Hi Karsten,

So I did what you mentioned. I have a landing page with a form that directs to the main webpage (technically - now a main landing page per suggestions)

The problem is that I want to gate all 7 pages under 1 form - This is the use case:

- We are a medical device company that will visit a doctor, and we will give them a link (to the form in this case) to access clinical studies based on the product.

-I have a main landing page and 6 product pages (let's say medicalmd.com and then medicalmd.com/product1, medicalmd.com/product2)

-We are looking to have the doctor fill in Name/email/practice name so a record is created when they enter, and we want to track what they see/how many times they access.

-> Problems I am encountering. The pages don't act as a whole website; I can't gate them if I use any of the built-in features. I have gated all of them with a password; every time someone wants to navigate between products, it asks for it again.

-> If I use a form/password only for the main page, then anyone can copy the link to the product pages, and they aren't gated. (EX. I gate medicalmd.com, but you can access medicalmd.com/product1 without anything stopping you).

I tried using the group conditional access; let them in when 1 form is filled, but I don't want the doctors to have to create a password and make this too hard to access.

@fergsvalencia29 the forms tool is not designed to handle this kind of use case, unfortunately, neither are password protected pages. Forms are designed to capture contact information and send contacts to a thank you page, not for logic spanning multiple pages. Password protection just applies to one page, as you've already found.

If you want to do this natively in HubSpot, you would have to use HubSpot's membership functionalities: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/website-pages/require-member-registration-to-access-private-content

Yes, this involves your contacts registering – but I don't see any way around that without violating at least one of the requirements you have shared.

(I would not recommend going down a cookie-based route as this is highly prone to error for any contact who uses a privacy-oriented browser or any of the many privacy extensions.)

Thank you, Karsten! By any chance, do you know if I got the first page gated with a form? Hubspot will know who that is and track what they are clicking on the other product pages?

I am confused, if I created the webpages or landing pages in Hubspot, and the domain is integrated. Would that mean that the code is running? My domain is from domain.com

What I am looking to do:

- I am trying to see what pages the prospect visits and what links/videos they visit/watch. - That is also why we start with a form, so we can track that and create a lead. This form is already embedded on a HubSpot page as well which the sales team will use as a link to send to prospects.

This works – permitting that the contacts do not decline your cookies.

’ve dealt with a similar setup before while working on a project to moviesmod apk, so here’s what worked for me:

1. You can keep these as normal website pages — no need to convert them into landing pages.
2. Gate only the first page with a form, then allow access to the rest using a simple cookie/session after submission.
3. To keep the pages private, you can turn off indexing and restrict direct access so only people with the link + form submission can view them.
4. HubSpot forms automatically sync with the CRM, so creating contacts/companies is straightforward.

Short, clean, and works without gating every page individually.
