Subscription type link error

I am creating an email where I have added a like if someone clicks it the subscription will be confirmed. I have used Hunspot's built-in subscription type: subscription confirmation for the link.

the link is working when I am testing it in preview. But when I send the email then the link doesn't work. I have added images as well.

what is the problem? and what could be the solve here?

Hi @SMomo,

This link type is specifically meant for the double opt-in: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/marketing-email/set-up-double-opt-in-for-emails

When clicked, it will populate this field with the value "User clicked confirmation": https://knowledge.hubspot.com/marketing-email/what-is-the-marketing-email-confirmation-status-contact-property

It's not specific to a subscription type, just to avoid any confusions.

Now to your question: this link will only work reliably if emails are delivered through a contact-based workflow. In previews, test emails, or regular email sends, as far as I know, it's expected behavior that this does not perform correctly. Can you confirm that you're testing this in an actually sent email, delivered through a workflow?

No, I was using a test email. So it will not automatically subscribe to them to any subscription?

@SMomo no, it is a badly named part of the email confirmation process (double opt-in, see my previous reply), it's not a subscription opt-in link.

I am editing the email using this option. (shown in the image). This email is not available when I am creating a contact-based workflow.

@SMomo in that case you're editing the double opt-in email – which is not sent via workflow but automatically by HubSpot. The moment you submit a form, you should get an email with a working link.
