HubSpot now disconnecting from my domain

When I first signed up to HubSpot, I connect my domain that is hosted through Squarespace. At some stage in the last couple of months, this now shows as 'Not Connected' but I don't seem to be able to find out how to have this connection back up and running.

Having spoken to a Sales rep on chat, they initially told me to update my CNAME. When I queried that, and asked why I woudl change my CNAME in Squarespace to a HubSpot one, and asked if that woudl break it, it was confirmed that isn't what I should do. They then told me to add my HubSpot Tracking Code into Squarespace. When I went to do this, I could see I had already done it, with exactly the same details as the current code (e.g. it isn't as if the code had changed from before).

I would really like some help from HubSpot Support teams to rectify what is no doubt a really easy situation, it just isn't in my wheelhouse of knowledge.

I would quite like to use a lot more of the available functionality within HubSpot, but if I cannot get support for this simple task, it isn't going to give me great confidence to upgrade. If anyone can help with this, I would be very grateful.

Unfortunately as your post is tagged free you will not receive support from Hubspot and your only option is this user to user community. It is also worth mentioning that there are limitations and restrictions of free plans that do not exist on paid plans, and I would typically not recommend it for a production environment more than to test unless you have intentions to upgrade to a paid version.

To your questions around domains, if you are hosting with a company like Squarespace, you would typically not use the Hubspot CMS for your primary, www, subdomain. However, it is possible to use an alternate subdomain like "pages", "go" or any other variation of your domain for a CMS (microsite) or for the Landing Pages tool. Can you confirm whether you are pointing www to Hubspot or whether it is another subdomain and what part of Hubspot you are trying to connect it to?

As for the Hubspot tracking code, that should be embedded to any web property you own where you want to track interactions, or utilize the Hubspot features. While you can embed the code directly onto your pages, I would typically recommend that you embed this via a tag management platform like Google Tag Manager ( https://tagmanager.google.com/ ) or it looks like there are posts about this on the Squarespace site ( https://forum.squarespace.com/topic/303101-how-to-set-up-google-tag-manager-on-squarespace-%E2%9C%85/ ).
