Edit subscription preference pages

HubSpot's default system pages for email subscription are not visually appealing at all. I would like to customise the pages in terms of design and content, but I keep failing because I only have limited HTML and CSS knowledge.
If I want to edit the default page, I have to clone it. When I clone it and move it into our child theme, I get various warnings and it requires in-depth HTML knowledge to make adjustments. I have also tried the drag & drop template, but I'm not sure how to make changes to the styling there either.

Surely these changes should be easy to make?

You mentioned cloning the default page. This is the correct first step. Cloning allows you to work on a copy without affecting the original. Moving the cloned template into your child theme is a good practice. However, warnings may indicate compatibility issues or missing assets.

Currently the subscription preference pages (and other system pages) require HTML, CSS and HubL knowledge for customizations.

There is already post submitted to the HubSpot Ideas that you can upvote to increase visibility for the HubSpot team:

@MartinaWi another option would be to find a free theme in the marketplace (or explore paid options) that has system pages you like and use that theme instead of the default HubSpot theme (growth) - unless you've already built a website/landing pages with the HubSpot theme, then it would be a bigger undertaking to configure the new theme to match, but if you're just looking to have polished system pages for email subscriptions it would be easier to use something already designed and coded without having to edit code because you can then just configure the theme settings to add your branding and you'll be all set.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

We have a different theme and have customised it to our branding. I therefore have little room here and am forced to manually customise the existing system page for us.

The proposed solution could work for others, but unfortunately not for me.

You're welcome @MartinaWi, it sounds like you might need a little help from a developer to improve your system pages - I'm not sure how much this would cost, but @Anton would be able to help you with this.

Hi, we have the same problem - we'd like to update the language on our page but have no developer. Can anyone recommend a Hubspot freelance developer to help us out here?
