Domains & URLs SSL activation takes forever

I successfully connected a Domain with a Hubspot project. On the settings page is now a light green message that says "We are activating the SSL for the domain XYZ. This might take up to 4 hours". That was three days before. Do you have any idea, what I can do on that matter?

Hi @ICarow

Consider double checking on the DNS Propagation.

Even after you update your DNS records to point to HubSpot,
it can take some time usually a few hours for those changes to reflect everywhere on the internet.
You can use a DNS propagation checker tool to see if the update has fully propagated

Hi Humashankar,

I already checked the DNS Propagation. The Website is already to be found under the new domain with http. But it is not callable with https. The Browser says "the connection is not save". There seem to be a still problem with the SSL-Certificate.

The message you see is - connection is not secure right ?

Enter your domain and analyze the report.

It can tell specific problems with the certificate itself, like validity periods or chain issues

In some cases, conflicting settings with other security features like firewalls, additional certificates might interfere with HubSpot's SSL activation.

Disable your security software temporarily for testing purposes and see.

I tried as you proposed and found, that Hubspot is not delivering a SSL certificate at all: "no peer certificate available".

Hi @ICarow when you connected your DNS, did you pre-provision the SSL?

Access HubSpot DNS Records → click the "pre-provisioning" link in the blue box:

When you click "pre-provisioning" it will provide you with additional DNS records that you need to configure for SSL.

Hi all,
I finally found a solution for that subject. Before you connect your domain you need to follow this instruction: "If you are using CAA records and previously had 0 issue digicert.com in place, you can add 0 issue pki.goog or 0 issue letsencrypt.org to avoid SSL validation issues."
If you now connect your domain, the SSL entry is immediately created and valid. Nice. 😎
