How to change the name on an invoice

Hi, I've created two invoices and they have the same default name. I can't see a way to edit the name? Please help!

I do not believe you can change the name of an invoice once it has been created. If the invoice hasn't been shared you could delete it and create a new one.

Hi Josh, thanks for your response. Each time i create a new invoice it has the same name? It seems to be a defult setting that I cannot change, even when I create a new invoice... Theres no way to click it to edit it.

Are you aware of a fix for this?

Hi @Kellbell,

The invoice names are based on a sequential order. You can change the prefix of the invoice number in the invoice settings, but the actual name is created when the invoice is created, in order. If you were to delete an invoice and then recreate it, it should give it a new sequential number.

In that case, you must check HubSpot invoice numbers don't overlap with invoice numbers in your accounting system, HubSpot invoices have the prefix INV and a starting number of 1001 by default.

To customize your HubSpot invoice prefix and starting number:

Click the settings icon in the main navigation bar.
In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Objects > Invoices.
Click Edit prefix and/or Update starting point for invoice numbers and set your preferred values.
