What is it?

Merchants using HubSpot payments can now host Checkout pages on their own custom domains instead of a HubSpot domain. This builds buyer trust and delivers a seamless payment experience by hosting payment links and checkout on your own domain.

Note: Apple Pay and Google Pay are not currently supported on Checkout pages on a custom domain.

Why does it matter?

Having the Checkout page on a HubSpot domain causes confusion for buyers, leading to lower conversion rates and a poor experience due to repeated cookie consent. Allowing custom domains keeps the buyer journey consistent and trusted, addressing a major blocker for business builders and improving conversion and satisfaction.

How does it work?

Merchants using HubSpot payments can select a custom domain to use for a payment link within the Payment Link Editor. At the bottom of Settings, there is a Payment link domain section where you can select the custom domain to use.

To use a custom domain for an existing payment link, you can go into the payment link and navigate to Settings within the Payment Links editor.

In addition, Checkout pages for merchants using HubSpot payments will automatically use the custom domain set for the invoice or quote, ensuring buyers stay on the merchant's branded site throughout the purchase process.

If you're currently using Stripe as a payment processing option in HubSpot, you may be eligible to migrate to HubSpot payments.

Note that any workflows that used the previous HubSpot domain as an identifier will need to updated.
