Custom calculated property in Quote

Paying a fortune to HS to get:

Marketing Hub Enterprise
Sales Hub Enterprise
CMS Hub Professional

HS doesnt have Total Cost in Line table (not total price). So Ive created a Calculated Property:

Total Cost = Unit Cost x Quantity

I cannot see this calculated property when Im trying to add in the Quote template line table.

HS answer: BUY Commerce Hub Pro+!!!

All of that to simply make a TOTAL ...

Im open to any suggestion, workaround.

Ive checked both links.. none of them are explaining how I can inject in the Line item table included in a quote template, how to construct the TOTAL COST (again not the total price). TOTAL COST = Unit COST x Quantity. I ve already created a Calculated property (as recommended by HS support).. but impossible to present this Calculated property in Quote template

Here’s a handy workaround for legacy quote templates in Sales Hub:

With custom-coded templates using HubL, you can access line item data directly and calculate your Total Cost (Unit Cost × Quantity) within the template.

You can also use the crm_product_property parameter in the line items module to add custom product properties as columns, just note, calculated properties made in HubSpot settings won’t appear automatically.

If you’re using CPQ quotes in Commerce Hub, template customization isn’t an option.

Hello HubSpot Support,

I am following up on your previous suggestion regarding using HubL and the
crm_product_property parameter to calculate "Total Cost" (Unit Cost ×
Quantity) on our quote templates.

I understand the logic, but I am not a developer and I cannot find where to
implement these changes within the standard HubSpot interface. I am
currently using the Drag-and-Drop Quote Editor, but I do not see the
"Design Manager" or a place to add HubL code.

Can you please assist with the following?

Locate/Enable Design Manager: I need to know where to go to create a
"Custom-Coded" template.

Implementation of HubL: We need a specific column in our Line Items table
that calculates: [Unit Cost] * [Quantity] = [Total Cost].

Our internal cost property is named: [Insert exact name of your cost
property here, e.g., "unit_cost"].

Clone for Internal Use: Our goal is to have an "Internal Quote" template
that Dave and Sara can apply to a cloned quote so Lisa (Accounting) has the
total PO amounts for our 3rd-party vendors.

Could you provide the specific code snippet for this calculation and
instructions on how to apply it to a new template?

Custom-coded quote templates are currently available only for legacy quotes in Sales Hub, not for CPQ quotes in Commerce Hub.

If you're using the Drag-and-Drop Quote Editor, you’re likely on CPQ quotes, which don’t support code customization.

If you have a legacy quotes access: There isn’t a “Design Manager” button for editing these templates. Instead, you’ll use the HubSpot CLI (command-line tool): you download the boilerplate theme, make edits to the HTML/HubL files in your favorite code editor, and then upload your changes. This is typically handled by developers.

To calculate Total Cost for line items in your template, you can loop through LINE_ITEMS like this: {% for item in LINE_ITEMS %} {{ item.unit_cost|float * item.quantity|float }} {% endfor %} (Just update “unit_cost” to match your actual property name.)

To clone a template, simply duplicate and rename the file (e.g., “Internal Quote”), update its label, and upload it. Sales reps will then be able to select it when creating quotes.

If coding isn’t your thing, no worries at all! I recommend reaching out to a HubSpot Solutions Partner or a developer who can support you.

The process involves some command-line work, HTML, and HubL, and isn’t available through the regular UI, but help is definitely out there.
