Best phone number validation options in HubSpot

Hi All, first post!

I'm looking for the best phone numbers validation/verification solution to hook into HubSpot. I want soemthign can can confirm the numbers are correct and valid as i want to avoid as much wsted time as possible when teams are outbound calling.

Ideally i'd want this to work globally, but essential it's effective for Us/Canada and main european countries

Appreciate any help on this!

At this time there is no native phone validation in HubSpot. It looks like this has already been submitted as an idea, and I'd suggest you give it an upvote/comment as that helps prioritize ideas for HubSpot developers.

According to these other posts in the community, you may be able to use Numverify or work with a developer to build a custom option.

For phone number validation in HubSpot, I've had success with services like Twilio and Nexmo. They offer global coverage and can confirm numbers effectively. We really need this ASAP ASAP ASAP... it's causing huge headaches in many of my client workflows - especially Sakari integrations and pre-demo reminders, deliverability is totally hit or miss. Kind of crazy that this isn't already offered since most platforms DO have this, and i always consider hubspot the best!

Hello Bibsbsy,

I user Zapier to automate phone number verification checks.

Zapier is compatible with Hubspot and you can link it to the OpenAI API (ChatGPT) to analyze fields in your Hubspot CRM. I use the OpenAI prompt function within Zapier to analyze the phone number field and the country field from Hubspot to produce a formatted response which I then use Zapier to pass to the Numverify API.

Using OpenAI API with Zapier

You can the pass the formatted phone number to a number verification API such as Numverify (which is also compatible with Zapier).

Numverify checking phone number

Numverify will check whether it is a valid phone number or not and provide verification details.

Numverify phone number verification

You can then use Zapier to automate the rest of the verification workflow, either sending details back to Hubspot or Google Sheets, etc.,

Hi Bibsbsy!

Bit late to the party but we use Real Contact Phone Grading HubSpot app by Trestle. The app can do a phone validation check, grade contact details, and email deliverability check all in one query!

1. To connect with Trestle, you will need a Trestle API key which you can get for free here.

2. Once you have installed the app, click on "Manage Extension" in the right sidebar of your HubSpot Contact

3. From there, enter your API key and select which properties you would like displayed

4. Once your account has been connected, you don't need to do anything else. However, you can click on "Actions" and then "Update Contact" to validate a particular contact if needed. New contacts added to HubSpot will automatically be graded/verified with this app.

Trestle also has batch processing options in their portal if you are looking to do bulk verifications.

One thing to look out for is that although checking validity is a good first step, you're really looking to understand which phone number is active or disconnected which will help you understand which leads/contacts are likely to pick up. Solutions like Trestle's Phone Validation API offer this extra level insight.

Sometimes systems can be tricky with SMS verification, especially when it comes to international numbers. In my case, a temporary number worked perfectly. I used a service that lets you receive SMS online in the UK, and everything went smoothly. If you're stuck, I highly recommend this method — it’s a real lifesaver!
