Hi @GrantC1,

Glad to be of help 🙂

With a Professional subscription, you could easily create reports which look at either meetings or calls. But the redundancy could still cause problems and confusion.

I would still lean towards deciding on a leading activity type and logging the information there, though. I understand however that this would require a change in learned behaviour for the sales team.

Best regards

Hello!

My sales team will often times schedule a meeting with a client and then call that client through the HubSpot 'Call' Action at the time of the meeting. However, the issue here is that HubSpot will record both of these activities separately so now we have a 'Meeting' Object and a 'Call' Object that both exist for the same time.

Having a future meeting is helpful to know how many future calls we have set up, but having the call object is good for notes/outcomes.

Does anybody have a workaround that wouldn't create two activity objects?

Hi @GrantC1,

I'm not aware of a native feature that could automatically consolidate the two activities. The best option would be to not save the call and log notes into the meeting.

If it was the other way around (keep call, remove meeting) that could cause confusion for the attendees.

Best regards!

Hey @karstenkoehler!

It feels like I'm talking to a rockstar since I see you on the boards so often with helpful solutions! Thank you 🙂

Unfortunately the sales folks will call FROM the Hubspot Call functionality which will automatically log a call, and the functionality of the editing the type/outcome of the call is much easier in the Call functionality.

The only solution I could think of that wouldn't cause a huge UX issue would be to use Meetings as prospective and calls as retrospective so if we are running reports we would only use 'Meeting Objects' to report on future calls and 'Call Objects' to report on outcomes. But it's really messy that these are separate objects

@karstenkoehler
Thank you for your reply! The issue I'm seeing is that HubSpot automatically logs calls when a call is made through the platform, so we would have to teach the sales people to schedule all calls as meetings, then record the notes in the scheduled meetings, then delete the call record that was automatically created when the salesperson called.

Additionally, this also means that all future calls would have to be scheduled, which isn't always the case in our business.

Yes I think that would work. It'll take some learning from the dev team but I think that's the easiest solution in order for us to track the meetings and schedule future meetings. Thanks Karsten!
