Hey,

we want to run chatflows inside our platform. However, even understanding it is originally a sales tool, the flow keeps connecting to google or linkedIn services, things our customers don't consent.

Now, how do other companies solve this? Is there any way to prevent external scripts from happening through the chatflow?

To clarify, the chatflow itself won’t add Google or LinkedIn code. If you’re seeing those calls, they likely come from ad pixels set up in HubSpot Ads or scripts added to your page, such as through Google Tag Manager.

Well, from our dev ops department, those scripts have not been there prior to implementing the chatflow code snippet. To our management the whole thing feels like an uncontrollable data collector we unleashed, so our ultimate goal right now is to understand and control the matter.

However, I somehow sense that disabeling the cookie consent switches, those scripts would not run?

Depending on how your tracking codes are set up right now, there'd be a few ways to check how particular tracking codes are set. One such way would be to temporarily disable HubSpot tracking code (ideally — on one specific page only, so that you could check live both behaviors with and without HS tracking enabled). So if HS code is installed through Google Tag Manager, just add a particular page as an exclusion to the tag trigger set up.

I agree with @BérangèreL that it seems like the tracking codes you see are loaded through HubSpot integrations (like this one for GA). Are you using HubSpot's cookie banner?

Can you walk me through your chatflow? Are you referring to a chatflow from HubSpot (I know it's kinda duh, but just eliminating the impssible) or is this a chatbot you have running somewhere that's connected to HubSpot?

The chatflow comes with an activated cookie banner, and I will use your input to run a set of tests with our dev department over the week to see if we can eliminate those scripts. Will come back with results then after.

We deactivated cookie and data processing consents but also a marketing tool. The skripts now don't show up no more. We now apply them one by one again to see what was responsible for the GDPR issue.
