Updating Form Submission Events for Ads

I want to update the Lead Values of our Form Submission Events for Ads

I understand that you can't update the events.
I understand that a form cna only be used in one event.
I thought if I paused the event then the form would be released to use in a new event with the updated value.
I still cannot create a new event using the same form.
I do not want to clone the form because the amount of effort to place the new form in all the placements is too much for a small team.
Does the reporting data get deleted and lost if I delete an Event in Ads | Events? In order to release it for the new event?

The only way to reuse the form in a new event is to delete the original event, which will release the form. However, doing this will also permanently delete all reporting data associated with that event. If maintaining historical data is important, cloning the form and creating a new event is the safer option though it does require updating the form wherever it's currently used.
