Hi [Prem / weSimplifi],

Thank you so much for the detailed guidance!

I’ve double-checked all your points:

The pixel is owned by the correct business account.

My user and HubSpot have full access (including “Manage Pixel”).

The dataset is connected to the correct ad account.

I’ve disconnected and reconnected the Meta Ads integration in HubSpot.

I also cleared cache and tried in Incognito.

Still, HubSpot returns the “Pixel ID is Null” error when I try to add it.

Interestingly, when I switch to another pixel (from a different business account), it works without any problem – which makes me think it's an issue with this specific pixel or sync state between Meta and HubSpot.

I’ve contacted Meta Support to see if they can manually trigger a refresh or deeper sync on their side. I’ll report back here in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

Thanks again for your help – really appreciated!

Best,

Issue with Meta Pixel Integration – "Pixel ID is Null" despite correct selection

Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble integrating my Meta (Facebook) Pixel into HubSpot. I recently had a call with a Meta support agent, and we went through the entire setup together, following both Meta’s and HubSpot’s instructions.

The problem:
In HubSpot, when I try to add the Facebook Pixel under “Add Pixel,” I can select my ad account correctly (see screenshot), but I receive the following error:
"Pixel ID is Null."

👉 Attached screenshot:
As you can see, the pixel from my AD ACCOUNT appears, but I can’t proceed because the Pixel ID is not recognized.

What we’ve already confirmed:

The Pixel is fully set up and active in Meta Business Manager

The ad account is properly connected to HubSpot

There are no visible restrictions or permission issues on the Meta side

We followed HubSpot’s official guide step by step

My question to the community/support:
Has anyone experienced this issue before? Is there a workaround or something that needs to be adjusted within Meta or HubSpot to make the Pixel ID recognized properly?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance!

Hi @LeaseFix,

This issue, where HubSpot shows "Pixel ID is Null" even though the pixel is set up correctly in Meta — is usually caused by permission mismatches or HubSpot not receiving full access to the Meta Pixel resource, even if the ad account connection looks fine.

Meta often lets users select an ad account even if the pixel tied to that ad account isn't fully shared with the HubSpot app. That’s what causes the “Pixel ID is null” error — the dropdown loads, but the backend call to retrieve the pixel details fails.

Here's how you can cross-check it:

Verify Pixel Access in Meta:

Go to Meta Business Settings > Data Sources > Pixels.

Ensure the correct Business Account owns the pixel.

Under People and Partners, verify that your Meta user account has full access (especially “Manage Pixel”)

Grant HubSpot Access via Partner Integration:

In Meta Business Settings > Partners, find your HubSpot integration.

Make sure HubSpot has permission to access both the Ad Account and the Pixel.

If not added, click Assign Assets > Pixels and grant full access to the correct pixel.

Reconnect HubSpot’s Ad Account Integration:

In HubSpot > Settings > Marketing > Ads, disconnect and reconnect the Meta Ads account.

When reconnecting, ensure you check the boxes that grant HubSpot permission to access all relevant assets (ad accounts, pages, and pixels).

Browser/Cache Step:

Use an incognito window or clear browser cache and try again — sometimes HubSpot doesn’t refresh Meta data properly in the UI.

You can read more about it here if you need:

Hope this helps!!

Hi @LeaseFix ,

Here are some steps that have helped resolve it:

Verify Pixel Permissions in Meta Business Manager: Ensure that both your user account and HubSpot have full access to the Pixel. Navigate to Business Settings > Data Sources > Pixels in Meta Business Manager to confirm this.

Check Pixel Ownership: If the Pixel was created under a different Business Manager or transferred, HubSpot might not recognize it properly. It's advisable to use a Pixel that was originally created under the same Business Manager as your connected ad account.

Disconnect and Reconnect the Integration: Sometimes, disconnecting both the ad account and Pixel from HubSpot, clearing your browser cache, and then reconnecting everything can resolve the issue. This approach has worked in cases where HubSpot didn't pull the correct data on the first attempt.

Contact HubSpot Support: There have been instances where HubSpot couldn't retrieve the Pixel ID due to cached permission errors. In such cases, reaching out to HubSpot support and requesting them to refresh the pixel sync or escalate the issue for a deeper sync has been effective.

Manual Pixel Installation: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, consider manually adding the Pixel code via Settings > Website > Pages > Site Header HTML in HubSpot. While this won't provide native ad reporting within HubSpot, it will ensure that your tracking remains functional.

For more detailed guidance, you can refer to HubSpot's official documentation on installing pixels from external ad networks: HubSpot Knowledge Base
