HubSpot is so slow!

Is anyone else experiencing ridiculously slow page loading times? HubSpot works brilliantly for the first hour of the day and then everything slows down, sometimes with a lag of 30 - 45 seconds between searching for a record and finding it or typing something and then it appearing on screen.

It seems to be linked to the AI feature which I would love to turn off if possible? Any tips... it's driving my colleague and I absolutely loopy!

Hi @LStrickland8,

If you suspect AI to be the cause here, you can disable it under Settings (gear icon in the menu) > AI.

Generally, what you're describing sounds more like a browser issue. I am administrating a large number of HubSpot portals, with AI enabled and disabled, and no performances differences.

Can you make sure of the following?

Latest version of a supported browser: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/account-security/browsers-supported-by-hubspot
All browser extensions disabled to rule out any interferences or conflicts
Clear cache/cookies
Try private/incognito window
Try another browser

Thank you. Everything was up to date but I've now moved HubSpot over to Microsoft Edge and it's working far better. Appreciate your advice.

Will there be any plans to make it less slow on Chrome? All our employees are using google chrome (forced through Microsoft Intune) - but Hubspot is so slow nowadays its barely useable..

Additionally, reducing the amount of visible data in your views or applying filters to limit what’s shown could help speed things up. If the issue continues, reaching out to HubSpot Support might be your best option.

This is usually caused by long-running sessions, memory buildup, or heavy client-side scripts rather than a single issue. A few things I’d check first:

Review tracking and third-party scripts

HubSpot tracking, analytics, and chat widgets can add extra load over time. Try delaying non-essential scripts or only loading them on pages where they’re actually needed.

Reduce background load

Check whether HubSpot scripts are duplicated or if extra integrations are running unnecessarily in the background. Temporarily disabling integrations one by one can help identify what’s slowing things down.

Test step by step

After each change, run PageSpeed Insights to see what improves. What usually helps is isolating one thing at a time rather than changing everything together.

This usually makes it easier to spot which scripts are causing the slowdown.

Honestly, in most cases it comes down to a couple of heavy scripts and reducing what loads on the page makes the biggest difference.

If you want a quicker way to handle some of this, tools like Website Speedy can also help analyze and optimize script loading, but I’d still start with identifying the heavy scripts first. It’s optional to use.
