Hiya

If we have 7,000 deal records that have been tagged by a property, what is the easiest way to mirror this property in the company records (for the company related to the deal record) please?

Thank you for this. Can this be done retrospectively, without creating a new property? So if a property has already been set up in Deals, can I sync it to a property in Company?

@00490 no, this would involve the creation of a new property.

If you want to populate an existing property, you would have to create a workflow and use the 'Edit record' workflow action to copy values from one field/object to another field/object.

You’re on the right track with what Karsten suggested.

HubSpot doesn’t let you directly mirror an existing deal property to the company object retroactively. The native sync property feature https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/create-sync-properties only works when you create a fresh property pair.

If you already have thousands of deals tagged, the practical path is to create a company-level property, then run a workflow that copies the deal property value into the associated company record using “Edit record” https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/compatible-source-and-target-properties-for-copying-property-values-in-workflows

For bulk historical updates, you could export your deals with the property values, use the deal-to-company association IDs, and re-import against companies https://knowledge.hubspot.com/import-and-export/import-objects

That way, you cover both the retroactive population and future consistency. Once the properties are aligned, you can rely on workflows to keep them updated moving forward.
