How to set a custom datetime property?

Hello!

I'm trying new workflows capabilities with HubSpot Operations Hub and got stuck in one part.

I need to create a custom datetime property that stores the exact time when a Deal entered the last deal stage datetime. This property already exists (has been created through the API), but I can't find a way to input the hour, minute, and second data with HubSpot workflows. Example: 30/06/2021 04:33 GMT-3

Later, this property will be used to sort deals in the pipeline so my team can prioritize the oldest ones to accomplish our SLA - so it's really important to HubSpot understand that this property data it's a datetime so my team can sort records based on this, which doesn't happen with text properties. Right now I just can have the day/month/year but this doesn't help me at all.

Can anyone help me with that? I appreciate! 🙂

Best,

Felipe Felix

Hi @FelipeFelix !!

While I don't have an answer for this myself, I posted this question to our workflow wizards. Does this answer help?

I think the only way to achieve this would be to enroll the deal on the required stage change and then use the “set property value” action and set the date to “date of step” which, if the property is datetime, will include both date and time information.

Hi Felipe,

According to them, this does insert the time data including hour and minutes. However, as you want to use that information to sort deals later on - I think the roadblock here might be that the CRM is not showing this datetime information unless you click into the property history, so viewing the exact datetime stamp is hindered by that. Could that be it?

If so, there is sadly not much we can do to work round that with workflows. Even if you use a custom code action to set the timestamp via API manually, you’d still run into the issue that the CRM will still display the property as a datepicker property rather than a datetime property in-app...

If I choose text then I can't set to the 'date of step'. And if I set to date picker then it is a date field and I only get the date in the detail of the field property.

What field type did you choose when creating the property?

Thanks
Lachlan
