Netsuite - Sync to New HubSpot Record (Company/Contact)

Hey all, just thought I'd check if anyone has a good solution here. In short, I need data sync to change the HubSpot company record it is currently syncing to a particular Netsuite record. HubSpot won't allow me to simply merge the two company records, because one (or both) of them has child companies associated with it.

There are times when we end up needing to change the company or contact Datasync is using for Netsuite. For example, when a customer is moving from one software instance to another, both software instnaces will have their own company record in HubSpot for a time. Our internal sync between HubSpot and our software sees the second instance and creates the new company record with the correct associated custom object records, etc. Now, I have two HubSpot company records with nearly identical info (except the software instance identifier we use for the integration to match records). When the new instance goes live, I need to sync the Netsuite Customer record to the new instance's company record. While I'm comfortable deleting the old company record once the change occurs, this doesn't solve the problem as it just breaks the sync. Forcing a resync of deleted records would create a much bigger mess. Any ideas would be appreciated.

So you are using this integration "NetSuite", is that right please?

And you need to change the associations for some of the company records (because some are duplicates).

Thanks, @BérangèreL , this is generally correct. I do have and use the Sync Card, and this is the sync I'm using for Netsuite, yes. I'm fairly confident there isn't (yet) a great direct solution as I recently spoke with a data sync product leader about this very issue, but I'm curious if anyone has found a good workaround. I appreciate your trying to loop in some potential SMEs.

In 2025, you can’t simply “re-link” a synced NetSuite record to a different HubSpot company once associations are set. The merge restrictions around child companies remain the same. However, the Data Sync tool now offers a few improvements you can use to handle transitions more gracefully.

You can now export the existing company’s property values via the “Manage Data Sync” settings, pause the sync, and then map that same NetSuite internal ID to a new HubSpot company using a custom property before re-enabling sync.

- That effectively “transfers” the record without breaking the integration. The updated docs on handling reassociations are here: (https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/connect-and-use-hubspot-data-sync )

If you’re dealing with parent/child constraints, it’s still necessary to reassign or detach child associations first, then merge or re-map. It’s not elegant, but it’s the safest way to keep NetSuite continuity intact today.
