Splitting First Name If Last Name is Unknown

Good mornign all..

I'm rather new to the Operations Hub and we are trying to do a lot of basic data cleansing. We have a global operations so we have to deal with Asian character sets, but we want to split a first name field if the last name is empty.

Our current data set may have first names like:

First Name: John doe

Last Name: empty

First Name: Jane da doe

Last Name: empty

How would we go about splitting this name, so we only take the last portion of the First name and move it to the Last name?

Hey there,

I would just export the list of contacts with their Record ID to a sheet and do the separation there. I don't even know if it's possible in HubSpot and its fairly easy to do in sheets. Once you have your First Name - Last Name separated there, you can import it back to HubSpot in bulk. Because you have the Record Id field, you won't have duplicates, it will be only an update to the First Name-Last Name property.
